I'm John Robbins (a.k.a. Sean MacRoibin), a Dubliner and pioneer of slice-of-life comics sub-genre Mortal Tedium. I've collected my turn-of-the-millennium Leaflit series in three photocopied small press volumes: Negotiating The Beast, Vacancy For Satan and Sad Chemistry. Currently I've a one-page strip in the GOAL anthology Sorry I Can't Take Your Call Right Now But I'm Off Saving The World and in The Girly Comic Book. I occasionally review UK and Irish small press titles on Bugpowder and Small Scrutines (http://www.smallscrutinies.blogspot.com/).
Hi dudes! i'm Bailey.S.Claringbold.My dad is Scott Claringbold who is a small press comic book writer. I like superheroes/villains. Some of my favourites are: iron man, hulk and booster gold!! I'll post an iron man pic soon so check my page. Hopefully I'll get really famous one of these days! Hope to make some friends on here. Thanks for reading folks.
I'm Sean Taylor. I write Gene Simmons Dominatrix for IDW and I'm working on Jesse James in the Mayan Underworld for Arcana. I'm the former managing editor for Elfin Comics and the former editor in chief of Shooting Star Comics.
I'm Tim Perkins and I have been in the comics business since 1985, working for most of the major players, although I was working in what was then the small press from 1983 for Harrier Comics before then.
I am now Director of Wizards Keep and presently working on the first volume in the Worlds End series of graphic novels entitled "Riders on the Storm". The Worlds End Ashcan has gone down great since we launched it at this year's Bristol International Comics Expo. It sports a cover with pencils and colours by myself with inks by legendary US Inker/Artist Joe Rubinstein and the response from folks bodes well for the release of the graphic novel in 2009.
This year has seen us launch several new product ranges including the Worlds End Figurines and the Worlds End BriteMat Mouse Mat to complement our existing lines of Sketch Books, Giclee Prints, Posters and other products.
We have lots of other surprises lined up for the coming months, which I am sure to plug here nearer the time.
I do the full art chores on the monthly UK Hot Wheels comic for Toontastic and I have recently finished the pencils on Book One of Relentless for Markosia, which is presently being digitally painted by Yelena Zamorskaya, whom I have invited over here.
I also have a Fantasy Art course, which I run and have do lots of support work, using comics and storyboards to promote literacy in schools and colleges.
I am looking forward to chatting with everyone here and would like to say thanks to Shane for setting this up and also to those I have invited along that have jumped at the chance to be a part of this network.
Hi, I'm Scott Bradley. I started a publishing company Resolution Comics last year with my friend Brian Carr so that I could stop using the phrase "one day I'll have a comic book published". Funnily enough, I have been spending quite a bit of time editing and doing "business" stuff and not so much time drawing over the year. However, we've managed to put out two issues of our anthology series "From Here to There" and have a few more books just about ready to go to the printers. I also contributed artwork to the upcoming CGS3 anthology of artists and writers that are fans of the Comic Geek Speak podcast and drew a 6 page story that involves talking gorillas for PKD Media Presents #1.
I'm not quite sure...am I the only person from the U.S. around here? I hail from lovely Berkeley, California.
Hi, my name is Alan Nolan and I'm from Dublin. As a kid I was obsessed with comics, both reading and drawing.....although I lost my way as a teenager through my twenties. Its all come full circle now and I'm back in the drawing chair, and just about to publish my first completed work, a 24 page horror story under the banner 'Dubcity Comics Presents......'At Hell's Gate.''
